What I have Learned and where I intend to take the rest of the Folio:

My motivation
• Show the beauty of repetition
• Explore the effects of colour, exposure and texture
• Influence on the composition’s rhythm, mood and meaning.

My intention
• I aim to show the audience there is no ‘perfect composition,’ only preferences.
• Illustrate the beauty of the compositions’ unity and harmony together
• Careful choice of complementary compositions in a sequential rhythm.

Formal aesthetic qualities to consider:

Colour
• Colour – acid, bright, primary and secondary, contrasting, complementary, black and white, monochromatic – hue of the same colour, mix of cool and warm colours
• Role of colour – to convey the feeling of the unnatural, modern, pop-art, poster, unsettling, beautiful / ugly, surreal, alien

Tone
• Tone – dark, flat tones, extreme contrast, linear
Shape / form
• Shape – two-dimensional, figurative, abstract form, suspended, geometric, inorganic

Line
• Line – strong, linear, horizontal background – perspective - vanishing point, complex,
• Eyes movement directed – more because of bright light colour of face
• Projected outward movement, tunnelling , depth, swirling

Texture
• Rough, fragmented, scratched, pixelated
• Creates interest and abstraction

Balance
• Asymmetrical
• Balanced foreground with background
• Darkness with light
